The Men Of Paʻa
Our team at Uhane Pohaku Na Moku O Hawaii is dedicated to making a difference in our community. We are honored to work alongside the Men of Paʻa, who bring their expertise in Kokua Ke Ola Puʻuhonua to our events. Kaū Hoa Piliʻ Āina
Kaʻū Hoa Pili ʻĀina Training Program is a non-profit initiative dedicated to fostering pono stewardship practices primarily at Punaluʻu and various locations in Kaʻū. Participants, known as haumāna, engage in collaborative efforts with Ka ʻOhana O Honuʻapo and Hawaiʻi Wildlife Fund, guided by a coordinator.
Volcano School 8th Graders
The 8th-grade class from Volcano School embarked on an enriching educational journey to Ke Ola Puʻuhonua, a vibrant Hawaiian cultural refuge. Immersed in the living traditions of Hawaii, the students delved into the essence of Hawaiian lifestyle, culture, and science. Guided by the wisdom of the land, they learned about stewardship and their role as future guardians of the ʻāina. The experience cultivated a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of all aspects of Hawaiian life and instilled a sense of responsibility towards preserving and perpetuating these invaluable cultural practices
